Heidrick & Struggles Releases 2023 Sustainability Report Showcasing Continued Commitment to a Sustainable Future

The firm’s fourth sustainability report highlights key achievements including its ongoing efforts to build future-ready leadership teams, its first CDP climate disclosure, and driving responsible innovation with GenAI.

CHICAGO, August 14, 2024 — Heidrick & Struggles (Nasdaq: HSII), a premier provider of global leadership advisory and on-demand talent solutions, today released its 2023 Sustainability Report,  detailing significant progress across its sustainability initiatives. This year’s report emphasizes sustainability as a core aspect of the firm’s strategy, better positioning the firm to create value for its people, clients and investors. The report stresses the firm’s dedication to transparency, environmental initiatives, and fostering a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and excellence where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. Similarly, the firm remains focused on supporting our clients with their sustainability efforts, as companies face societal and geopolitical divisions, economic volatility and accelerated innovation.

Key sustainability highlights from 2023 include:

  • Our client work continued to evolve and expand across the gamut of sustainability topics, surpassing 250 engagements for mission-driven organizations and 300 engagements helping advance the sustainable economy.
  • Further aligned our DE&I initiatives with our business strategy, to fuel innovation and strong performance across our workforce, improve employee engagement and satisfaction, and ultimately drive sustainable growth and success.
  • Our colleagues donated more than 2,900 hours in support of 45 non-profit organizations on our Global Day of Service.
  • Submitted our inaugural response to the CDP Climate Change questionnaire and achieved a B- score.
  • Committed to setting near-term science-based targets with the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).
  • Received an independent SOC 2 Type II report that verifies operating effectiveness of our cybersecurity controls.
  • Established an Acceptable Use Policy for Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a dedicated working group to foster responsible innovation.
