CHICAGO, Oct. 23, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc. (Nasdaq:HSII), the leadership advisory firm providing executive search and leadership consulting services worldwide, today announced that Bonnie W. Gwin, vice chairman and managing partner, North America Board of Directors Practice and Theodore L. Dysart, vice chairman and leader within the global CEO & Board Practice, were again named to the Directorship 100.
The annual list compiled by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) is based on a survey of 15,000 public company directors and officers and identifies the most influential people in the boardroom community, including directors, corporate governance experts, journalists, regulators, academics and counselors.
"Bonnie and Ted's commitment to corporate governance, ethics and leadership in the boardroom has distinguished them in our industry, making them trusted advisors to some of the most influential boards in business today," said L. Kevin Kelly, chief executive officer of Heidrick & Struggles. "This is a well-deserved honor for them, and one that underscores our firm's commitment to provide our clients with unparalleled expertise and service quality, as well as the caliber of our CEO & Board Practice."
Gwin and Dysart will be recognized at the 2012 NACD Directorship 100 Awards dinner gala in New York City on Nov. 27. As part of the celebration, they will join the "who's who" of America's corporate and boardroom leaders to discuss ways they can bolster the economy through board leadership and innovation.
Gwin focuses on searches both at the director and CEO level across a wide range of industries. She is widely quoted and speaks frequently on diversity in the boardroom as well as Board and CEO Succession trends and best practices. Gwin is currently a member of the Georgetown University Board of Regents; on the board of trustees of Chautauqua Institution; and previously served as chairman of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America.
Dysart works exclusively on board, CEO and succession planning engagements. Ranked by BusinessWeek as one of the 150 most influential head hunters in the world, he has placed more than 500 executives on the boards of Fortune 500, mid-cap and private companies. He serves on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago, WonderWork and the U.S. Navy Memorial.
The Directorship 100 was created to acknowledge directors and chief executive officers as well as governance advocates who have demonstrated a strong commitment for upholding the highest standards and best practices in corporate governance and those whose influence on boardroom issues furthers the state of corporate governance in the United States and around the world.
