CHICAGO, July 26, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc. (Nasdaq:HSII), the leadership advisory firm providing executive search and leadership consulting services worldwide, today has announced that Stephen Beard, who currently serves as General Counsel, will also assume responsibility for Strategy and Corporate Development. Valerie Germain, who currently leads the company's Functional Practices, has been named to lead the Strategic Partners Program and Business Development.

In his expanded role, Beard will work with the Executive Committee as well as practice and geographic leadership to ensure strategic execution of a unified strategy to further differentiate our firm's competitive position, reputation and brand. Beard also will serve as a key driver of strategic alliances, joint ventures and M&A activity. 

As head of Business Development, Germain will work closely with practice and market leaders to develop and implement business methodologies and performance benchmarks aimed at increasing client and market share firm-wide. Germain brings significant experience across many facets of the firm and a strong track record of establishing long-term client relationships. She had previously led the Strategic Partners Program in its early inception from 2007 to 2010.
