Heidrick & Struggles Adds International Development and Law Partner in China

CHICAGO, Oct 17, 2011 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) -- Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc. (Nasdaq:HSII), the leadership advisory firm providing executive search and leadership consulting services worldwide, announced today that Hongxia Liu has joined as Partner. She will be part of the Education & Social Enterprise Practice and will be based out of Beijing.

Liu comes to Heidrick & Struggles from The World Justice Project in Washington DC, where she served as Executive Director since 2009. WJP's mission is to lead a global, multidisciplinary effort to strengthen the rule of law for communities. As Executive Director, she led the successful transition of the WJP from an entity within the American Bar Association to an independent, non-profit, 501c3 organization. She also organized and implemented high-visibility programs in the international justice community, including WJP's World Justice Forum, regional outreach meetings and the Rule of Law Index.

Prior to her work at the World Justice Project, Liu worked as an executive with the Law Library of Congress, at the International Development Law Organization as Director of Asia Pacific and at the ABA/UNDP International Legal Resource Center. She also served as the President of the Washington Foreign Law Society.

Liu holds an LL.B., Comparative Governments and International Relations from Peking University and a Master's degree in Public Policy and Administration from New York University. She currently serves as a Guest Professor at the China University of Political Science and Law.
