Heidrick & Struggles Names Dave Winston Global Managing Partner of Aerospace, Defense and Aviation Practice

CHICAGO, Mar 30, 2011 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) --

Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc. (Nasdaq:HSII), the leadership advisory firm providing executive search and leadership consulting services worldwide, today announced that Dave Winston has been named Global Managing Partner of the firm's Aerospace, Defense and Aviation Practice.

Mr. Winston, who joined Heidrick & Struggles in 2005 with the acquisition of Highland Partners, will concurrently also lead the firm's Dallas office as Partner-in-charge.

"I'm thrilled to have this opportunity to lead our aerospace, defense, and aviation efforts for such a great brand. We have a very strong global partnership and I look forward to working closely with my colleagues and our clients to grow the leadership advisory practice in this sector," says Mr. Winston.

Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Mr. Winston was co-founder of a Boston-based boutique recruiting firm focused on venture-backed startups. He was also a member of the technology practice at another major international search firm. Before entering executive search, Mr. Winston was an owner and chief operating officer for a startup company that provided an outsourced supply chain for perfusionists and hospitals performing cardiac surgery procedures.

Before embarking on his corporate career, Mr. Winston spent 20 years serving his country as an officer and helicopter pilot in the United States Marine Corps. He currently serves on the board of Heros on the Water, a not-for-profit organization that helps wounded warriors relax, rehabilitate, and reintegrate through kayak fishing and the outdoors.
