Jim Hart, president and CEO of Senn Delaney, a Heidrick & Struggles company, will host a roundtable for chief executive officers and also participate in a CEO panel discussion on December 9 at Chief Executive Group's 2013 CEO2CEO Leadership Summit at the New York Stock Exchange.
The Senn Delaney roundtable, How a CEO's Focus on Organizational Purpose Elevates Performance: What Leaders Can Do, will be moderated by Chief Executive magazine. CEOs attending the session will focus on three key elements of business leadership and performance-driven power of purpose.
aligning people at all levels of the organization to the purpose
inspiring leadership and all levels – engaging the very best in people
creating long-term sustainability and performance (long-term customer loyalty, employee engagement and performance and improved organizational agility to flex with industry changes).
“Defining a corporate purpose and making it the beacon that guides key business decisions and informs strategy is key to an organization's healthy, adaptive culture and performance,” states Hart. “Numerous studies have found that companies that have a clear and well communicated purpose enjoy many benefits, including improved financial performance, customer trust and brand reputation. A clear purpose inspires employees, increasing their engagement, satisfaction and productivity, reduces turnover and attracts the best talent.”
Hart will also be part of a CEO2CEO Leadership Summit general session panel discussion, Smart Leaders; Smart Teams: Transitioning, Culture and Alignment for Maximum Effectiveness. The panelists will examine how they create a high-performing team and share the learnings and behaviors that generate higher-quality decisions, more innovation and better execution. Other panelists include Cardinal Health Chairman and CEO George Barrett, Honeywell Chairman and CEO David Cote and Bob Nardelli, CEO of XLR8 and former CEO of Chrysler and Home Depot.
The CEO2CEO Leadership Summit is an annual event produced by Chief Executive Group, publishers of Chief Executive magazine. Attendance is limited to 100 CEOs. Featured speakers this year include Jeffery Immelt, chairman & CEO, General Electric; George S. Barrett, chairman and CEO, Cardinal Health; Mark Thierer, chairman & CEO, Catamaran; Kim Jeffery, chairman, Nestlé Waters North America; David Cote, chairman & CEO, Honeywell, who was honored as CEO of the Year; Tom Rogers, CEO, TiVO; and Florida Governor Rick Scott, former CEO of Columbia/HCA.
