Dubai, April 16, 2017Heidrick & Struggles (NASDAQ: HSII), a premier provider of executive search, leadership consulting and culture shaping worldwide, organized an exclusive dinner event Thursday, April 13 to present findings from its latest leadership book, Accelerating Performance. The dinner was hosted at Dubai Opera, a state-of-the-art theatre venue in Dubai, and was attended by more than 40 CEOs from leading companies in the region, including EGA, Al Ghurair, CIB, EMAAR and Landmark.

“The majority of competitive differentiation occurs based on an organization’s ability to make sense of changes in its environment, and act quickly,” Colin Price, Executive Vice President and Managing Partner of Leadership Consulting at Heidrick & Struggles, said at the event. “Organizations in the GCC region must act with speed and agility to exploit new sources of growth as well as sustain the sources of today’s competitive advantage. They should do this by building a non-hierarchical structure and a culture of meritocracy where leaders demonstrate accountability for how they perform and manage others.”

During the event, Price shared Heidrick & Struggles’ latest leadership research on accelerating performance with a group of elite leaders. Providing measurable insights from today’s successful organizations, Accelerating Performance helps companies move decisively with speed and agility to get ahead of their competitors, and succeed in the current volatile operating environment.

“With world-class infrastructure, leading transportation systems and an ideal location, the Middle East is a prime market to conduct business and pursue growth opportunities,” said Michael Morcos, Heidrick & StrugglesManaging Partner, Middle East and North Africa. “However, the GCC region has entered a new phase of the economy where we cannot expect a high return on every investment. Against the backdrop of an environment where oil prices are low, government spending has been reduced and wages are on the rise, it is imperative that company leaders improve efficiency from the bottom up in order to accelerate organizational performance.”

Colin also shared a list of the 23 ‘superaccelerators’ –  the FT 500 companies Heidrick & Struggles studied that continuously outperform their competitors and the markets, experiencing sustainable growth over a five-year period. In addition to explaining the leadership framework ‘META’ (mobilize, execute, and transform with agility), Colin also highlighted the priority areas, attributes and differentiating actions leaders and organizations must have to build momentum and achieve acceleration in today’s disruptive business environment.
