Heidrick & Struggles Adds Co-Head for Global CHRO Practice
Daniel Kaplan joins as Managing Partner

CHICAGO, April 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Heidrick & Struggles (Nasdaq:HSII), the premier provider of executive search, leadership consulting and culture shaping worldwide, strengthens its Chief Human Resources Officer practice with the addition of Daniel Kaplan to the firm's New York office.

Daniel Kaplan - Global Co-Head of the Human Resources Officers Practice - Heidrick & Struggles

Kaplan co-leads the firm's global CHRO practice with Lauren Doliva, PhD, a long-time market leader at Heidrick & Struggles. Kaplan has extensive experience advising Boards, CEOs and investor groups on assessing and hiring world-class Human Resources leaders. He has completed numerous high-profile assignments for corporate HR executives across the Americas, Asia and Europe.

Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Kaplan expanded and led the CHRO practice of another major global search firm and was the driving force behind the creation of the Board of Directors Human Capital Institute. Earlier in his career, Kaplan spent ten years as a senior partner at another major search firm. In addition to a successful search career, he also spent time in corporate HR as director of recruiting at Fannie Mae and as recruiting executive with Sapient Corporation.

"Boards and CEOs expect more from Human Resources today.  The role of Chief Human Resources Officer has evolved to be focused more on defining talent strategies and leading change within the organization.  Dan's understanding and intuitive feel for the changing role of the CHRO is nearly unsurpassed. He will help to further expand Heidrick & Struggles' expertise in helping companies find the right talent for this increasingly vital role," said Jory Marino, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Markets for Heidrick & Struggles.

Kaplan was named to BusinessWeek's list of the World's 50 Most Influential Headhunters.  He is also a former member of the Board of the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC). Kaplan was one of 30 global participants in the World Economic Forum's Talent Mobility Summit and was a governor in the Inaugural American Health Policy institute hosted by the Human Resources Policy Association.

Kaplan is a graduate of Rutgers University and is active in fundraising for several non-profits including Alex's Lemonade Stand and the Manhattan Society. He is also a member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Business Advisory Council.
