CHICAGO, May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Heidrick & Struggles (Nasdaq:HSII), the premier provider of executive search, leadership consulting and culture shaping worldwide, strengthens its Global Technology and Services Practice with the addition of Michael Matella, who will Co-Lead the Services Sector in the Global Technology and Services Practice.  He will be based in the firm's Chicago office.

Matella will lead the expansion of the global practice strategy and continue the globalization of major accounts.  The team will leverage Matella's deep search expertise within the C-suite, boardroom and Senior Partners of professional services firms and functional expertise around CEO succession, board effectiveness and management consulting.

Matella joins the firm after most recently serving as Vice Chairman, Executive Committee Member and the Global Head of the Professional Services practice at a leading executive search firm.  He also founded, led, and significantly grew the Global Professional Services practice at another global executive search firm where he was the practice's Managing Partner.  Earlier in his career he served as Managing Partner, Human Performance North America for Accenture, and co-founded the Global Management Consulting and numerous greenfield professional services businesses at Arthur Andersen. 

Matella holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Accounting from Wake Forest University. He also earned his CPA from the State of Illinois and received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
